MOSI e.V., Museum of Superior Installation was first inaugerated in April 2024.

A specific space in the basement of the Heinrich Buessing Hoefe, Wolfenbuetteler Strasse 31A, in Braunschweig, Germany is more than an exhibition space. It is a platform for space in the interdisciplinary field of contemporary art, a museum field, which offers various formats to involve viewers and accompany them in their creative participation. Its focus is diversity to shift sources, unleash materials to become objects in relation to the body and the conceptual and physical relation which each artist is involved with.

MOSI, Museum of Superior Installation has a shorter life story within a few speculative, long stories. The creation of a depository (in 2023) of old books, bones, stone collections, clothes, toys, furniture, works of art and antique printing machines from an indefinite time, from indefinite authors of the 20th century. What had been stored came to light, was sorted and organized and the remains became visible as the MOSI permanent inventory called the Depot.

The long history is based on Heinrich Büssing (born 1843 - died 1929), the “Büssing courtyards” in Braunschweig is a unique place of former inventions with its own spatial landmark.

Dagmar I. Glausnitzer-Smith is co-founder of MOSI e.V. Chairwoman of the Executive Board. She is commited to the organisation of MOSI Weekend Events, MOSI Openings for Artists in Residency, the involvement and participation of Braunschweig’s regional artists and HBK students, international guest artists invitations, the curatorial and operational process for all exhibitions, Performance Events, International Workshops and the programme developement of new yearly projects.
